Gyeongbokgung Palace

Gyeongbokgung Palace (경볡κΆ) is the largest and most iconic of Seoul’s Five Grand Palaces, originally built in 1395 during the Joseon Dynasty. The complex spans 41 hectares and features over 330 buildings at its peak.
Highlights
The Gwanghwamun Gate changing-of-the-guard ceremony takes place daily at 10:00am and 2:00pm. Inside, the National Folk Museum of Korea and the National Palace Museum are included with palace admission.
Tips
Arrive early on weekends to beat crowds. Renting a hanbok (ν볡) allows free entry and makes for stunning photos. The palace is spectacular at night during special evening openings in spring and autumn.
Getting There
Take Seoul Metro Line 3 to Gyeongbokgung Station (Exit 5). 5-minute walk to the main gate.
