Bulguksa Temple (불국사) is one of the most celebrated Buddhist temples in Korea, first constructed in 528 AD during the Silla Kingdom. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995.

Key Structures

The Dabotap and Seokgatap pagodas in the main courtyard are two of Korea’s most important national treasures. The stone stairways — Cheongungyo (Blue Cloud Bridge) and Baengungyo (White Cloud Bridge) — are designated National Treasures themselves.

Seokguram Grotto

2.5km uphill from Bulguksa, Seokguram Grotto (also UNESCO-listed) contains a magnificent 8th-century stone Buddha facing the East Sea. Shuttle bus runs from Bulguksa.
